STUDIO PICS

A DAY AT THE STUDIO

WOW what a FUN day...the Sound Kitchen really is where they get the music cooking. And the Wesleyan students were part of something that was HOT today....from the Praise Bands in the wee hours of the morning to the Wind Ensemble and Servant in the afternoon, there was good music in the air.

Just to put the whole experience in perspective...next month the Sound Kitchen will be hosting a session with Chicago and the will also be joined on these recording by a group named Earth, Wind and Fire....and where are they recording? In the "Big Boy" studio at the Sound Kitchen. So this really was a once in a lifetime experience for all of our students. And they did a great job. I can't wait for each of you to hear the recordings after the final mix and production.

Well, we are off to the Grand Ol' Opry....let you know who we see, and give you an update later on tonight...

SOUND KITCHEN

Up early and out the doors this morning heading for the Sound Kitchen. This should be a great day and a great experience for all of our students over at the studio today. Our engineer seems like an unbelievable person, and very talented at what he does in the studio. I even heard one of the guys last night say to him, "I guess I need to put all my things in your hands tomorrow, and just trust that you know what you are doing in here because it is beyond my control."

I thought that it was just an incredible statement by a teenager. Not just for the musical understanding of how the whole music business works, but also how our lives in Christ work. We really do need to put all of our "things" in God's hands tomorrow, and every tomorrow after that one, and trust Him because "things" are usually beyond our control. Maybe I will put that with some scripture, three points for life application, and a poem---it would make a nice little sermon.

But, a preacher I am not--so back to the studio. Top of the line. BIG. Super nice!! Can't wait for all of the students to get in there today. It is going to be a once in a lifetime experience. I look forward to writing many good things today...and posting pictures too...

IN THE STUDIO

Well we finally got the Praise band into the studio tonight, around 11:15. Got everything set up on the drum kit, and in the isolation booths. And our engineer even stayed a little late and set some mic levels on the kit, and those guys that were hanging out in the sound room really got a nice treat hearing the monitors and direct play of the kit through the board. Looking forward to an early morning....will post pictures tomorrow.
